Dr. Mariana Haughey was born and raised in Vitoria, Brazil. She earned her first Doctorate in Dental Sciences from Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo, Brazil. After working several years as a General Practitioner, she moved to the USA and started her orthodontic residency and Master of Science program at University of Detroit Mercy. Upon graduation, she was invited to continue as faculty in the UDM orthodontics department while she obtained her second DDS.
In 2015, Dr. Haughey and her family moved to Massachusetts and she transitioned to full time private practice.
Dr. Haughey is President-elect of the Northeastern Society of Orthodontists, and a Delegate at the American Association of Orthodontists. She is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists. In 2023, in addition to her full-time dedication to her private practice patients, she returned to academia part- time as a Clinical Instructor at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
Outside the office, Dr. Haughey enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially outdoors, over a good meal, or when simply enjoying coffee and chocolate.
